Bold stripes are teamed with a myriad of spots in classic nautical colours of deep sea blue, sky blue and cream. These are contrasted with deep red accents and strong highlights of grass green and corn taken from the neighbouring countryside.

Inspired by the streets of St Malo, these pieces will bring a touch of the French riviera to your weekend wardrobe. The quaint cobbled streets and provencal markets inspire the ‘traditional meets modern’ merla print which is stamped on jersey tops, tunics and dresses. The new bistro’s and glimmering yachts inspire the graphic prosecco spot print found on dresses and blouses. And these brave patterns are underpinned by classic wide leg trousers, long length cardigans, plain jersey vests and some quirky accessories for the ultimate French chic style.

PostHeaderIcon Australian round-the-world sailing teen crashes

SYDNEY (AFP) — An Australian teenager’s bid to become the youngest solo round-the-world sailor suffered a setback when she crashed just hours into a preliminary voyage on Wednesday.

Jessica Watson, 16, was on a 10-day test journey when she hit a 63,000-tonne freighter in a busy shipping lane off the coast of Queensland state, snapping her pink yacht’s mast and damaging its rigging and hull.

But Watson vowed the incident would not stop her attempt to become the youngest person to sail non-stop around the world, solo and unassisted, scheduled to start this month.

“The whole incident gives me confidence — wow, I can actually handle this,” she said. “It could have happened to anyone … I’m unlucky I suppose, but you also learn from it.”

AUSTRALIA: A 16-year-old steered her bright pink yacht out of Sydney Harbour at the start of her bid to become the youngest person to sail solo and unassisted around the world. Jessica Watson’s 23,600-mile journey through the world’s most treacherous waters sparked a debate in the country over whether someone so young should be allowed to set off.
